The story of Miluchna began somewhat by accident. We were looking for a location for our office and, thanks to friends, we came across a property on Smrekowa Street. The building met our expectations, and the apartments within proved to be an added value. We decided to create a place we would love to stay in during our stay in Zakopane.<\/div>
From the outset, we wanted Miluchna to evoke the character of Zakopane of old, the Witkiewicz style, and the atmosphere of the 1920s. One of our inspirations was the neighboring building called "Misiuchna." We were particularly struck by its inscription on an old enamel plaque.<\/div>
It was then that Izabela suggested: if not Misiuchna, then perhaps Miluchna? The name immediately struck us as appropriate. It evoked a pleasant, warm, and comfortable place\u2014one you'd want to return to.<\/div>

Inspired by old Zakopane<\/b><\/div>
When creating Miluchna's identity, we utilized Polish typefaces from the era: Cyklop and Antykwa P\u00f3\u0142tawskiego. We also selected a subdued color scheme inspired by vintage black-and-white photographs: white, black, and shades of gray, offset by warm yellow and natural wood.<\/div>
This idea became the starting point for the interior design. Gray and black carpets, white and dark furniture, wooden countertops, and carefully selected accessories create a cohesive, tranquil whole. We wanted the space to feel comfortable, warm, and\u2014true to the name\u2014simply cozy.<\/div>
J\u00f3zef and Jakub Stopka helped us realize this concept. They advised, designed, and installed the carpets that today add character to the interiors and make them pleasant to walk on, even barefoot.<\/div>

History recorded in photographs<\/b><\/div>
Black-and-white photographs of Zakopane from the past are an important element of the interior design. They depict skiers, visitors to the resort, Krup\u00f3wki Street, and events that would be impossible to replicate today, including the Tatra Motor Rally and the races on R\u00f3wnia Krupowa.<\/div>
The photos come from the National Digital Archives. Since photography is one of Krzysztof's passions, we decided to print them on canvas in our own printing house. We also framed and stretched the canvases ourselves. This makes them not just a random decoration, but a part of Miluchna's history.<\/div>
The largest photograph is located in the Suite. It depicts Kasprowy Wierch in winter and skiers preparing for their descent\u2014an image particularly dear to Krzysztof and his love of the mountains.<\/div>

Comfort above all<\/b><\/div>
We furnished the bedrooms as we would for ourselves. A good night's sleep was paramount: comfortable, sturdy mattresses and functional furnishings. The living rooms feature fold-out sofas that can easily be set up for additional guests.<\/div>
Miluchna combines inspiration from the old town of Zakopane with contemporary amenities. When modernizing the building, we paid attention to both comfort and safety. At the same time, we preserved elements that still serve their purpose and contribute to the character of this place.<\/div>
Initially, we planned a nearly maintenance-free facility. However, we quickly realized that Miluchna also needed personal contact and hospitality. Therefore, we created a reception area with a small library for our guests.<\/div>

Close to Zakopane, close to the mountains<\/b><\/div>
We love Zakopane and enjoy hiking ourselves. We understand that our guests come here not only for a place to stay, but also for relaxation, fresh air, and the atmosphere of a mountain resort.<\/div>
Miluchna is located in a quiet area, yet close to the train station and public transport leading to Tatra trails. It's a convenient base for both train and car travelers.<\/div>
We also strive to care for our immediate surroundings. We heat the building with gas, segregate waste, and the fireplace is primarily decorative\u2014instead of burning wood, we light candles in it.<\/div>
